Gravitazero

Gravitazero is a no profit organization. His purposes are the identification, study, scientific research and exploration of Italian and foreigner airplanes, warships and merchant ships sunk in the Mediterranean Sea. Archeological wrecks, under government protection, are excluded from Gravitazero purposes.

Research and study of these wrecks is conducted under their historical and cultural point of view, trying to reconstruct their history and the events in which they were involved until their sinking. Gravitazero gives great importance to biological aspects in all his activities avoiding to damage the marine life which populates these sites. Gravitazero strongly believes to the importance of underwater cultural heritage as a particularly important element in the history of peoples, nations, and their relations which each other concerning their common heritage. Gravitazero is also convinced of their preservation and importance under the ecological and environmental profile.

Trough his activities Gravitazero aims to monitor, safeguard and document these underwater cultural heritages with articles, photograph and film coverages. Gravitazero aims to promote public interest and public appreciation on naval history. Gravitazero will collaborates with other organizations with similar purposes.

Gravitazero is a team of divers which includes geologists, marine biologists, programmers and naval history fans coming from Lazio and Tuscany region.The team follows the DIR diving philosophy, a method developed by the WKPP team (Woodville Karst Plain Project) in the karst systems of the north of Florida and perfectly suitable for wreck diving.
